I have finished my first clapotis!

Yarn: Noro Silk garden in colourway 203. The 203 in my LYS had purple in it, but the batch I bought from e-bay didn't. I'm happy anyway.

Needles: My trusty Boye interchangeables, size 8 circular.

Does the increase section of the Clapotis use more, less or pretty much the same amount of yarn as the decrease section? I am almost sure it would be pretty much the same as it's the same number of stitches, but if it isn't, knowing now could save me some irritation (note the icon).

( Just in case anyone wants to know why... )

I suppose this is more of a general question, actually. When a pattern, such as Clapotis, calls for you to sl1 at the beginning of a row, I'm always wondering if I should slip the stitch purlwise no matter what, or slip the stitch in the same manner that the row calls for (sl purlwise when purling, sl knitwise when knitting ( Read more... )

I got one lovely skein of lorna's laces shepherd sock in daffodil from my SP last summer...I've been sitting around trying to figure out what to make from it since then! I'm thinking about knitting Clapotis with Artfibers Kyoto yarn.

• Have you (or someone you know) done this?
• Have you knit with Kyoto on a different project?

i was thinking of knitting clapotis using manos del uruguay, which varies in thickness. has anyone used a yarn similar to this (or this yarn), if so how did it work out, if not, how do you think it would work out?

I finished Tempting last week so I took it with me when I went to visit the boyfriend over the weekend. After a hard day of work we decided to play hooky and explore Victoria, which gave me a chance to show Tempting off to the world.
